Nicole Alger’s figurative work relies on life and imaginative abstraction to express her interest in animist ideas. Upon graduating Duke University, she trained in Paris followed by four years at the Florence Academy of Art. For years she worked as a portrait painter, but currently is focused on her imaginative figurative work which has been in group shows across the country. Her still life and figurative work have received honors from NOAPS, PSoA, and AWA. She lives in New York City with her family.
